Silver Spring’s Small Group Cruise Ship
Just this year (2010) Silver Spring has set sail on an entirely new project: small group ministry. On our new cruise ship, we have levels and levels of wonderful opportunities.
Some decks will have club-like groups: Dinner Club, Wine-Tasting, Card-Playing, Crafts, Travel and Theatre.
Other decks will have small groups for those who yearn for activity: Running, Bowling, High and Low Impact Exercise, Volleyball and Outdoor Adventures.
There will be a unique deck on our small group cruise ship. For those who want to spend time in reflection, we have groups for you: Spiritual Sharing, Book Study and Bible Study.
Here is a list of many of the groups you will find on our Small Group Cruise Ship:
Bowling, Book Study, Bible Study, Low-Impact Exercise, Volleyball, Yoga, Model Trains, High-Impact Exercise, Dinner Club, Drama, Travel, Investment, Theater, Gourmet Group, Crafts, Scrap-booking, Garden Swap, Movie, Playing Cards, Skiing, Running, Wine-tasting, Computer, Wood-working, Music/DVD/CD Swap, Spiritual Sharing and Reading. Speaker’s Forum (attending programs at local colleges), Handi-man (offering handi-man services to people in need), Outdoor Group - this could have assorted activities: biking, kayaking, hiking, camping, etc.
Although each of these groups has their own character, all of them are designed to be “friendly.” The facilitators have been trained to nurture a community of safety and respect. Our groups also find ways to nurture faith. We want every group to invite a relationship with Christ.
